A piece of living history in the heart of Rockhampton, St Aubins Village is a heritage listed property that exemplifies life in Rockhampton during the boom of the 1800s, cementing itself in the legacy of the region.
The grounds of St Aubins Village dates back to the 1870’s, where it is believed to have been designed and built by John Rodekirchen, with the house adjoining what remains of the clay pit and brick-making complex which he operated.
Today, St Aubins Village is a popular wedding venue, but also boasts a Teahouse, Boutique Gift Shop and Vintage Caravan Bar.
Their Heritage Tours are a great way to learn the history of St Aubins, The Brickworks and a great opportunity to be able to walk through the Heritage House and Cottages. Tours are followed by a famous Garden Tea, all being served with their collection of Fine China.

Customs House: Gateway to the World
Rockhampton’s Customs House is an example of the Classic Revival period architecture which was all the rage in Rockhampton around the turn of the century. Built between 1898 and 1901 of Stanwell sandstone the building has a huge copper dome and an elaborate semi-circular portico with a Corinthian colonnade.
The building is a powerful reminder of the importance that Rockhampton enjoyed as the major central coast port around that time.
Customs House was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 2005.
