Yeppoon & Capricorn CoastYeppoon is the perfect combination of a chic coastal town, whilst still retaining all the yesteryear charm from your favourite family holiday. The town is the main holiday accommodation hub, service centre and cultural scene on the Capricorn coastline, and is the largest link in the chain of coastal communities. This seaside gem lies 45 kilometres north-east of Rockhampton on the Scenic Highway.
Rockhampton & Mount MorganRockhampton and Mount Morgan offer an unforgettable blend of heritage, country charm and authentic Central Queensland character. Known as the Beef Capital of Australia, Rockhampton sits proudly on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy (Tunuba) River, with historic streetscapes, vibrant cultural precincts, family-friendly attractions, and a thriving café and dining scene. Just a short drive inland, the historic gold mining town of Mount Morgan invites visitors to step back in time, with fascinating local stories, scenic lookouts and a strong sense of community spirit.
Reef & Keppel IslandsThe Reef & Keppel Islands — including Great Keppel Island and Pumpkin Island — are where the Southern Great Barrier Reef begins: a peaceful, nature-rich escape just off the Capricorn Coast. Here you’ll find calm, clear waters, bright coral lagoons, quiet beaches and wildlife encounters that feel close, safe and accessible. Perfect for nature lovers, families and slow travellers, these islands offer space to breathe and connect — whether you’re snorkelling sheltered reefs, sailing across turquoise bays, walking bushland trails or simply unwinding barefoot on the sand. As part of an ECO Destination Certified region, every experience helps protect the reef you’ve come to explore.
Emu Park & BeachesEmu Park & Beaches capture the relaxed coastal spirit of the Capricorn Coast, spanning a collection of seaside localities and beautiful beaches, including Emu Park, Zilzie, Kinka Beach, Mulambin and Keppel Sands. With sweeping ocean views, quiet stretches of sand and glimpses across to the Keppel Islands, this part of the region is made for slowing down. Explore the historic township of Emu Park and its iconic Singing Ship, swim and picnic by the beach, follow scenic coastal trails or simply enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the region’s smaller seaside communities. With welcoming local businesses, beachside accommodation and plenty of space to unwind, it is easy to settle into the Capricorn Coast lifestyle.
Byfield RainforestByfield Rainforest is a tranquil escape where ancient rainforest, towering palms, clear freshwater creeks and rugged coastal landscapes come together just north of Yeppoon. Rich in biodiversity and natural beauty, it offers a refreshing change of pace and an immersive connection to the Capricorn Coast Region’s wild side. Perfect for nature lovers, families and adventurous travellers, Byfield invites you to slow down and explore — whether you’re walking beneath the rainforest canopy, swimming in peaceful creeks, paddling calm waterways or discovering native wildlife and rare plant species. As part of an ECO Destination Certified region, every visit supports the protection of this remarkable landscape for generations to come.
